Magezi Ministries exists to bring hope and healing to broken communities and help people find their way back to God. They find from God what the world can’t give: healing for pain, forgiveness for the past, and grace to start again. We’ve seen that happen over and over right in front of us. Thank you for your partnership in helping make these opportunities happen!
Earlier this year, a lovely student from New Horizon College came to meet with me. She was deeply depressed and feeling suicidal.
I talked with her, listened, prayed, and kept pointing her back to the Father who sees her, loves her, and wants to heal her heart from trauma.
When we reconnected recently, she looked like a different person — smiling, with light back in her eyes. She told me she is doing much better.
Thank you, Lord — this is what healing looks like.
This is why your prayers and support matter. One girl, one conversation, one life brought from despair back to hope.
I had the joy of sharing a Sunday message at Bambelela about how God placed uniqueness and great value inside every person, and 13 people came forward to receive salvation.
The next week, Pastor Miguel gave a simple salvation invitation — “if you want to pray after me, you can” — and it seemed most of the 150+ people in the room were praying to receive Christ. Glory to God!
Now comes the beautiful joy of discipleship and follow-up.
We’ve also been invited back to share on family restoration and hope for healing broken families. Dan has already preached two sermons this week, and we have one Sunday evening to go. The audience comes from massively broken situations — addiction, domestic violence, cohabitation instead of marriage, illiteracy, high unemployment, food insecurity, high school pregnancies and lots of dropouts. Many people who come to Bambelela’s ministry events come locally from Bakenpark, from Vogelsfontein, and from Bohlekong which means “Place of Pain”. We pray God will deposit HOPE into their hearts as they hear about God’s original design for marriages and families and for drastic and lasting change in their situations. Please pray with us for soft hearts and miraculous moves of God in their stories.
Dan and I led the Freedom Training Conference this past month — it ended up being a smaller group, but the 7 pastors and several others interested in Freedom Ministries who did attend, had high praise for the helpful, quality training. They are so excited to help others get free and we are organizing a follow up event where they enthusiastically promised to bring many more people with them.
Several times a week, people come to us for advice and counsel. We are so encouraged — we’re seeing big, tangible answers to prayer in many of their lives.
We’ve rototilled our garden — and several other people’s! — and are planting an even bigger garden this year. We hope to share extra food with lots of people and ministries in the months to come. Practical love opens hearts.
1. Discipleship for New Believers: For the 13+ and potentially 150+ new decisions at Bambelela. That they would be rooted, not just reached.
2. Family Restoration Series: For breakthrough in addiction, abuse, fatherlessness, and hopelessness. For soft hearts to receive healing.
3. Two Ministry Teams Coming to Bethlehem: In the next 6 weeks, two teams will join us for an intense schedule. Pray for planning, schedules, and powerful ministry together.
4. Something New Is Being Born: We’ve been asking the Lord for wisdom and clarity for something new He laid on our hearts. While Dan was in the States, our Magezi board affirmed they sensed the same direction. We can’t share details yet — but we are sooo excited. New life and hope has breathed into us!
With joy,
Dan and Janell
